Though I wonder if they'd pay to drag the cascade if I qualify ;)

Poland inclouded with "funny" rules - other than posted above. I even don't wanna try, the most stupid competition I've ever seen!

So no competition for us this year, and no answer from MSI rep. Very good marketing strategy guys, this way you will sure get back on top. F**k MSI, this is NOT how you should be treating people.

Thats what I was thinking. I want to try and get in on this one since I'll have hardware in this time frame. But I have no idea how the online qualifications are going to work. If anybody has any contact with MSI USA see whats going on. The rules do seem a bit bad but this seems to be the only comp I'd be able to partake in anytime soon.

Just saw, NV is apparently nVidia, I don't think I'm willing to cross that line yet. Not to mention I'd need to pickup two 295 minimum to compete.
So; who needs a partner with phase power ;)

We should stage a parallel competition with no brand limits and see what gets top scores.

Sam
05-13-2009, 04:46 AM
do I get it right - rules say that you need to bring your own rig for BOTH parts of the qualifier ?
does it mean that MSI are trying to save on everything these days? (low contestant amount, no provided hardware ,etc)

For first time Ukraine will take part in such event. Due the lack of time (MSI had 3 days to determining the winner) qualification included just SuperPi low-clock callenge there. Ukraine will represent MaJ0r (http://hwbot.org/community/user/MaJ0r) and SteelRat (http://hwbot.org/community/user/SteelRat)

At least, will be nice if they (MSI Iberian Office) give some explanation to not include Spain/Portugal in this event.

I've send them an e-mail when the competition was announced, Silvia Boladeras forwarded my e-mail to Joaquín Suanzes, who never replied to any of my e-mails.

Not the best way of working.

I was told all local offices were allowed to organise a qualifier or just send someone. The reason why some countries are not included would be time and/or money related.

i don't understand so well this

• Only the top TWO (2) teams will be selected to progress to the MOA 2009 grand finale in Beijing, China.
• The Top TWO (2) teams are allowed to invite ONE (1) partner each to the MOA 2009 grand finale. Partner must be a contestant from PHASE 1 or PHASE 2.
• The total number of competitors entering the MOA 2009 grand finale is TWO (2) teams plus TWO (2) team mates, a total of FOUR (4).
• The remaining EIGHT (8) teams are considered to be eliminated and will not be eligible for futher progress to the grand finale.

so, the "Teams" are just 1 (One) person?
